A weekend bag only has to do one thing well: hold everything you need for two or three days and stay easy to carry while it does. This one is built as a barrel, so the depth is there through the whole length rather than just in the middle, and it swallows a couple of pairs of shoes, changes of clothes, a toiletry bag, a laptop, a notebook and books without needing packing carefully. There's the room for a camera and a couple of lenses, a water bottle and whatever kit the trip calls for, and the same shape makes it a good gym bag the rest of the week. The twin handles carry it by hand, and the strap clips on to take it over the shoulder or across the body when you've got a bag in the other hand.
A metal zip runs the length of the top and curves down at each end, so the bag opens right along its back and you pack it flat rather than posting things through a hole. Two pulls run on it, meeting wherever you leave them. A second zip runs the width of the front pocket for the things you want on the way rather than at the other end.
The body is heavyweight cotton canvas, lined in cream cotton canvas, with the handles, straps and trim cut from our signature Italian bio-based vegan leather. The handles are held in metal keepers so they sit square against the canvas and the load pulls into the panel.
