Barefoot Shoes
Our women's vegan barefoot collection brings natural movement to everyday life.
Barefoot footwear is built differently to conventional shoes. The sole sits level from heel to toe with no raised heel, and it's thin and flexible enough to bend in every direction, so your foot reads the ground and adapts to it rather than being held in a fixed shape. The toe box is wide and anatomical instead of tapering, giving your toes room to splay and grip with every step. There's enough cushioning to take the edge off a stray pebble or rough pavement, but never so much that it dulls what your feet are telling you.
Made in Portugal with Italian bio-based vegan leather containing 62–66% plant-origin renewable materials, and vegan suede detailing, each pair combines that construction with clean, wearable style. The soles are sidewall-stitched rather than glued, which is what lets them flex in every direction while staying durable.
We're still building the collection. It launched in 2025 with our Barefoot Sneakers, followed by a barefoot version of our popular Dock Boots, and there are more styles coming through soon.

These are the most frequently asked questions about Barefoot Shoes:
What makes barefoot shoes different from regular shoes?
What makes barefoot shoes different from regular shoes?
Barefoot shoes have three key features: a zero-drop sole (your heel and forefoot sit level), a wide anatomical toe box (letting your toes splay naturally), and an ultra-flexible sole (allowing natural foot movement). Regular shoes typically have elevated heels, narrow toe boxes, and rigid soles that restrict how your feet move.
Are WVS barefoot shoes actually vegan?
Are WVS barefoot shoes actually vegan?
Yes, all our barefoot footwear is 100% vegan. We use Italian vegan leather (69% biobased content) and vegan suede, with no animal products anywhere in the construction. Made in Portugal with the same ethical standards as our entire collection.
Can I transition to barefoot shoes if I've always worn conventional footwear?
Can I transition to barefoot shoes if I've always worn conventional footwear?
Absolutely. Start by wearing your barefoot shoes for short periods—an hour at home, then gradually increase duration. Your feet need time to strengthen after years in cushioned, elevated shoes. Most people transition comfortably over a few weeks to months. Listen to your body and don't rush it.
Do barefoot shoes work for people with wide feet?
Do barefoot shoes work for people with wide feet?
Barefoot shoes are ideal for wide feet. The anatomical toe box gives your toes proper space to spread naturally, unlike conventional shoes that squeeze wide feet into narrow shapes. Many customers with wide feet find barefoot footwear the most comfortable shoes they've ever worn.
