Two straps crossed over the foot. That's the whole design, and it's enough.
Each strap runs wide and cuts across the other at the instep — one from each side, meeting in an X that sits proud of the footbed. It's a shape that draws the eye along the diagonal rather than straight across, which is why these read softer than a flat two-band slide. Our Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials), smooth with a low sheen, in wine or blue. No hardware anywhere on them: hidden elastic strips set into the strap ends give as your foot goes in and pull back to hold it.
The colour carries right through. A matching lining in Italian vegan leather (100% PU), smooth against the foot, with a tan midsole edge running round the whole shoe between the strap and the sole. Gold WVS and the Vegan Society trademark stamped into the footbed.
Underfoot, a cushioned layered insole — soft memory foam over a recycled PU base (20% recycled PU) — on a flexible TR outsole with a light tread. It sits almost flat, 1cm at the heel and 0.5cm at the toe, with just enough flex in the sole to bend with your foot as you walk. The tread grips and lasts on city streets, cobbles, gravel and decking.
You can wear them on the beach too — salt water won't mark or stain them, and they're easy to care for.
Wine is the richer one — wear it with white linen or cream trousers and let it be the only colour in the outfit, or with a print in the same family for the evening. Blue is the everyday pair: denim shorts, a turned-up straight leg, a white shirt. C width fitting, standard, true to size.
