Our Notes

One strap, one buckle, and a cork footbed that shapes itself to your foot. The simplest thing we make and one of the most comfortable.

The strap runs wide across the foot and pulls in with a single adjustable metal buckle (100% zamak) in a polished silver finish, so you set the fit once and it stays there. The suede is a deep navy against the natural tan of the footbed — a quiet contrast that's most of the look. Fine stitching traces the edge of the strap, and the whole thing is finished in Portugal.

Underfoot is where the work is. A deep Portuguese cork footbed with a raised arch and a moulded heel cup, layered with soft vegan suede (100% PU) on top. Cork moulds to the shape of your foot as you wear it in, absorbs shock as you walk, and stays cool. Under that, a rubber tread layer for grip — durable enough for pavements, sand, gravel, decking, and the walk between all of them. A 3cm heel and 1.5cm toe, so there's a gentle lift without losing the flat, easy line.

Lined in soft vegan suede so you can wear them all day without socks and not think about it. And you can take them straight down to the beach — salt water won't mark or stain them, and they're easy to care for.

Wear them with linen — wide trousers, a shirt, a loose dress — or with turned-up denim and a tee. They're the ones by the door in summer.

Upper: Italian vegan nubuck (100% PU) – one of the finest vegan suedes you can get, Ecolabel certified with a soft, luxurious feel
Lining: Portuguese vegan suede (100% PU) – soft and comfortable against the foot, with a breathable suede texture that helps keep feet fresh
Insole: Deep Portuguese cork footbed layered with soft vegan suede (100% PU) on top – moulded to your foot and improving with every wear
Outsole: Portuguese cork midsole with a rubber tread layer underneath — the cork moulds to the shape of your foot over time while staying light, with the rubber giving durable grip where it meets the ground

Construction & Features

Shank: Steel shank for stability and support through the arch
Hardware: Single adjustable metal buckle (100% zamak — a durable zinc alloy) in a polished silver finish, so you can set the strap to the width of your foot
Construction: Mounted (cemented) construction – the upper is lasted to shape and the outsole bonded directly underneath. The most widely used construction method in footwear, it gives a clean, flexible build, though the outsole isn't easily resoled
Water Resistance: Water-resistant for everyday wear – keeps you dry in rain, puddles, wet streets, and most winter conditions. Just avoid heavy saturation or full submersion.

Our Italian Bio-Based Vegan Leather

Made with Italian bio-based vegan leather containing 62–66% plant-origin renewable materials. Produced in Italy using modern water-based, non-solvent processes, combining a viscose backing with a next-generation bio-based polyurethane surface.

Care Guide

Clean: Wipe the uppers and outsoles with warm soapy water and a cloth or soft brush, then towel dry thoroughly. Polish: A synthetic polish can be used to bring back shine and refresh the colour — any synthetic product should work fine, applied as described in its instructions. If your footwear has a burnished effect on the toes and sides (we apply a darker polish to some of our brown vegan leather uppers for effect), this is best reapplied by a cobbler, or at home using a darker shade of polish worked around the toes and sides. Drying: You can dry your footwear on top of or near a radiator or other heat source. Depending on the heat, it can take a few days to dry out the insides fully. Never put your footwear in the washing machine. Deodorising: Don't let your footwear stay damp between wears, especially inside boots, as this can damage the water resistance and let microbes develop, causing a smell. If this happens, dry the footwear thoroughly and use a footwear deodoriser until the smell stops. In extreme cases, wash the insides out with warm soapy water, then dry fully and reapply the deodoriser. Waterproofing (optional): You can treat the uppers with a waterproofing spray to improve durability, stain resistance and water resistance. We recommend doing this every 2–3 months depending on use — most standard waterproofing sprays work fine on our vegan leather.
