Our Notes

The Signature Desert has been with us from the very beginning — part of our original line-up in 2013, and still going strong. The styling is timeless: a clean two-eyelet front, a low-cut collar that sits neatly at the ankle, and a contrast welt stitch line running the full length of the sole edge, with the uppers resting on tonal outsoles that ground the whole look.

You can choose from our Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials) or Italian vegan nubuck (100% PU) — one of the finest vegan suedes you can get — the vegan leather crisp and smart, the vegan nubuck soft with a nap that catches the light beautifully. It comes in a soft grey, a versatile black and a warm dark brown, so there's a pair for whichever end of your wardrobe needs it.

They have a satisfying weight to them, and they're comfortable through a full day — the single sheet of flexible TR underfoot moves with you, the cushioned insole keeps things soft, and the padded collar sits easy at the ankle. The grippy base handles a variety of surfaces and is tough enough to withstand years of use.

And that's where these earn their place in the line-up year after year: they go with almost everything. Desert boots have that rare knack of sharpening up casual clothes and relaxing smart ones — worn with tailored trousers and an overcoat through the week, or with straight and wide-leg jeans and a chunky knit at the weekend. They sit just as happily under a midi dress or a skirt with tights, adding a bit of easy, low-key structure where a heel would feel like too much — the kind of boot that quietly finishes an outfit rather than announcing itself.

This product is certified carbon-neutral and ethically made in Portugal under EU employment, discrimination and health & safety law. It's vegan from the uppers and linings to the glue. It's delivered to you through our carbon-neutral supply chain in plastic-free paper and cardboard packaging.

Upper: Vegan Leather – Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials) | Vegan Nubuck – Italian vegan nubuck (100% PU), one of the finest vegan suedes you can get, Ecolabel certified with a soft, luxurious feel
Lining: Portuguese vegan suede (100% PU) – soft and comfortable against the foot, with a breathable suede texture that helps keep feet fresh
Insole: Cushioned layered insole – a soft memory foam top layer over a recycled PU base (20% recycled PU) cut to fit the shoe
Outsole: Flexible TR outsole with a light tread for grip
Laces: Long, extra-strong laces (100% recycled polyester), with metal lace tips (100% zamak — a durable zinc alloy)

Construction & Features

Shank: Steel shank for stability and support through the arch
Hardware: Hidden metal eyelets that sit behind the vegan leather for a clean finish, with metal lace tips — both 100% zamak (a durable zinc alloy)
Construction: Mounted (cemented) construction – the upper is lasted to shape and the outsole bonded directly underneath. The most widely used construction method in footwear, it gives a clean, flexible build, though the outsole isn't easily resoled
Water Resistance: Vegan Leather – Water-resistant for everyday wear – keeps you dry in rain, puddles, wet streets, and most winter conditions. Just avoid heavy saturation or full submersion. | Vegan Suede – Not water-resistant – vegan suede will soak through in rain, though it won't mark or spoil when wet. Best kept for dry days, and treat with a waterproofing spray if you want some protection.

Our Italian Bio-Based Vegan Leather

Made with Italian bio-based vegan leather containing 62–66% plant-origin renewable materials. Produced in Italy using modern water-based, non-solvent processes, combining a viscose backing with a next-generation bio-based polyurethane surface.

Care Guide

Clean: For marks and stubborn stains, use warm soapy water with a cloth or soft brush, working gently over the surface. Towel dry afterwards.Brush: Once fully dry, run a suede brush over the uppers to lift the nap back up and restore the soft, even texture. Brushing in one direction gives the most consistent finish.Drying: Always let your footwear dry naturally, away from direct heat sources like radiators, as too much heat can stiffen or damage the suede. Stuff with paper or a shoe tree to help hold the shape while drying, and allow a day or two for the insides to dry fully before wearing again.Deodorising: Don't let your footwear stay damp between wears, as this creates an environment where microbes can develop and cause smells. If a smell does develop, dry the footwear thoroughly and use a footwear deodoriser until it clears. In extreme cases you can wash the insides out with warm soapy water, then dry fully and apply the deodoriser again.Waterproofing (optional): If you'd like some added protection, you can treat the suede with a waterproofing spray every 2–3 months depending on use — most standard sprays work fine on vegan suede. This is optional, and bear in mind vegan suede is naturally an open-textured material that isn't designed to be water-resistant.

Fit and comfort notes:

Width and volume: our footwear is designed with a slightly wider D width fitting, offering more width and volume than most brands.
Materials: we use high quality vegan leather and suede. These materials are stable and won't stretch out significantly over time, so we recommend sizing up for comfort.
The perfect fit: you don't want the shoes to pinch your feet. You should have wiggle room for your toes and no rub points.
Feel: in most cases you'll find our footwear is comfy straight out of the box. Depending on the style or your foot shape, it can sometimes take a few wears for the uppers to soften and mould to your feet.

Stand on a hard surface with your heel against a wall.
Measure your foot from the heel (the wall) to the longest point of your toes.
Use this number to find your size in the chart above.

It is helpful to measure both feet, as one foot is often slightly larger than the other. Always choose the size that accommodates your longest foot.
