The Signature Desert has been with us from the very beginning — part of our original line-up in 2013, and still going strong. The styling is timeless: a clean two-eyelet front, a low-cut collar that sits neatly at the ankle, and a contrast welt stitch line running the full length of the sole edge, with the uppers resting on tonal outsoles that ground the whole look.
You can choose from our Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials) or Italian vegan nubuck (100% PU) — one of the finest vegan suedes you can get — the vegan leather crisp and smart, the vegan nubuck soft with a nap that catches the light beautifully.
They have a satisfying weight to them, and they're comfortable through a full day — the single sheet of flexible TR underfoot moves with you, the cushioned insoles keep things soft, and the padded collar sits easy at the ankle. The grippy base handles a variety of surfaces and is tough enough to withstand years of use.
And that's where these earn their place in the line-up year after year: they go with almost everything. Desert boots have that rare knack of sharpening up casual clothes and relaxing smart ones — wear them with an overcoat and tailored trousers through the week, or jeans and a hoodie at the weekend, and they look like they were made for both.

- Lining
- Portuguese vegan suede (100% PU) – soft and comfortable against the foot, with a breathable suede texture that helps keep feet fresh
- Insole
- Cushioned layered insole – a soft memory foam top layer over a recycled PU base (20% recycled PU) cut to fit the shoe
- Outsole
- Flexible TR outsole with a light tread for grip
- Laces
- Long, extra-strong laces (100% recycled polyester), with metal lace tips (100% zamak — a durable zinc alloy)
- Shank
- No shank – a soft, flexible build that moves with your feet
- Hardware
- Metal eyelets and lace tips — both 100% zamak (a durable zinc alloy)
- Construction
- Mounted (cemented) construction – the upper is lasted to shape and the outsole bonded directly underneath. The most widely used construction method in footwear, it gives a clean, flexible build, though the outsole isn't easily resoled
- Water Resistance
- Not water-resistant – vegan suede will soak through in rain, though it won't mark or spoil when wet. Best kept for dry days, and treat with a waterproofing spray if you want some protection.

I've had a pair of the Signature Deserts in taupe for about 2 months now. Sizing is the same as a Clarks desert boot, shape of the toe is slightly more pointy than the original Clarks design. The quality of these boots is very good as is the attention to detail in the design. Very comfortable from first wear and remain comfortable on days with long walking. I swapped the laces out for flat laces for a more typical desert boot look which helped them to be styled more casually with chinos and corduroy trousers. They've been easy to style and have become my go to footwear of choice outside of the office. I even wore them in the Egyptian desert where they were practical as they were stylish.

Look good and are sturdy. Were them pretty much every day.
Ich bin mit dem Komfort und der Qualität im Allgemeinen bisher zufrieden. Allerdings ist nach einer knappen Woche des Tragens einer der Nieten für die Schnürsenkel ausgerissen. Die Kontaktaufnahme mit dem Service über das Kontaktformular blieb dabei bis heute unbeantwortet.

I was getting compliments on how nice the black vegan suede version looked. It’s also pretty comfortable, I took them on vacation where I had repeated days where we walked over 15K steps.
