A long-sleeve polo knitted in a fine gauge, cut close through the body and the arm so it sits neatly under a jacket. The collar is knitted and folds properly, with three buttons on a short placket at the neck, and the smooth face of the knit keeps the whole thing clean rather than casual.
It's made from a blend of 40% Better Cotton Initiative cotton and 60% recycled content: offcuts from weaving and knitting mills, post-consumer clothing and recycled plastic bottles, spun back into yarn rather than thrown out. It's knitted in small batches in a family-owned factory in Tuscany. Ribbed trims at the cuffs and hem give the shape some structure and a little texture at the edges.
Wear it with chinos and loafers, or with black jeans and Chelsea boots for something plainer. Under a blazer or a bomber it works as a shirt would, with the collar sitting outside. In black it takes almost anything, so the trousers and shoes decide how smart it reads.
