Our notes
Developed for four-times world record holder Fiona Oakes, and built to take the most extreme running environments she's raced — from the Sahara Desert to the North Pole. The Oakes Cross Running Trainers were made for rugged trail running.
The Vibram® injected rubber outsoles carry 32 arrow-shaped 5mm lugs, widely spaced to bite into soft ground and shed mud as you move — traction on all terrain. The sole is direct-injected, moulded and fused straight onto the upper in one process, so the two won't part easily, and there's no shank — the cushioned midsole provides the structure and support, keeping the shoe light and flexible.
The uppers are Lyliane® 3DMX vegan nubuck by Lorenzi, Italy, with ballistic mesh panels (100% PU / 100% nylon) — abrasion and scuff-resistant to take the punishment of trail running, water-resistant for everyday wear and breathable with it. Inside, a breathable sports mesh lining (100% polyester) keeps air moving to help feet stay cool.
The speed lace system with a toggle lock means one pull for a fast, snug fit, no tying needed — with a storage pouch on the tongue to tuck the toggle and lace ends away. Underfoot, removable contoured PU sports insoles follow the shape of your foot for cushioned, supportive comfort.
Neutral gait. D width fitting.

They are comfortable. Easy to put on and take off. Best pair of shoes I've ever had.
This is a very sturdy shoe (besides the logo that fell off within a few minutes of wearing them. I just peeled the other logo off since they look better without them, anyway.) I am on my second pair of the Black edition, and third Oakes pair, overall. The only issue: I’ve purchased many size 12 men’s shoes from Will’s in the past and they always fit, including the first pair of Oakes I bought, with the red and blue highlights. My first pair of the Black edition were slightly too small, but I still managed to wear them for several years. I thought it must have been a fluke and three years later they would have fixed it. Silly me bought another size 12 pair and they’re again slightly smaller than all the many other pairs of size 12 Will’s shoes I have. I love the style and performance of the shoe, but can’t really run in them because of the sizing issue. If I buy them again, I’ll jump up a size. I’d love Will’s to investigate the issue to see if they are actually slightly smaller than all their other designs.

Vibram logo fiel auf beiden schuhen am ersten tag ab.
Seit ich sie mit sekundenkleber wieder angeklebt habe halten sie.
I purchased these trainers on Monday and received them on Thursday I wore them yesterday for 30 minutes and the viabram logos fell off and they gave me horrendous blisters on the ball of my feet.
I have purchased approx 7 various items of footwear from Wills in the past and never had any problems these trainers however are not fit for purpose 😕
I sent a email to wills yesterday and received one back offering me a 10% discount card which I have refused as I am extremely unhappy with the quality of the trainer's.
I have noticed a few people have left comments about the same issues with them. I wished I had read the reviews before I purchased these then maybe I wouldn't have bought them.
Tbh I have never had any problems with all the other boots and walking shoes I have purchased before in fact I usually recommend Wills vegan shoes to all my friends and family.
