Biodegradable. Zero Carbon. Vegan. Made only with biodegradable materials — a sneaker that can fully revert back to nature.

The LDN was over a year in the making, working with leading shoe component manufacturers across Europe. It wasn't an easy journey. Many of the solutions we developed to build a fully biodegradable sneaker hadn't been seen before, and these sit right at the cutting edge of sustainable footwear. They're not only super sustainable — they're super cool to look at and super comfy to wear.

A new WVS sneaker silhouette. Low-cut at the ankle, with the laces running low down the vamp so the whole shoe sits long and clean on the foot. We'd had a lot of requests for something like this. The upper is knitted in one piece in Tencel™ (100% Tencel™), a fine waffle weave that catches the light across the toe and moulds around your feet as you wear them. Flat Tencel™ laces (100% Tencel™), and WVS embroidered on the tongue.

Everything in them goes back to wood. The knit, the linings, the laces, the lace tips, the padding, the tape and the stitching are all Tencel™, derived from sustainably grown FSC wood sources, certified and controlled — certified compostable and biodegradable under industrial, home, soil and marine conditions, and compliant with Din Certco, Vincotte and US BPI standards. Compressed cardboard toe puffs, counter and insole board (FSC). Wood fibre and natural latex insoles. Apinat BIO® outsoles — a biodegradable bioplastic from renewable raw materials, compliant with EN 13432 / EN 14995 and US ASTM D6400.

Grey woven Tencel™ linings, really soft, so you can wear them with or without socks. Air circulates and your feet stay cool, and the linings wick moisture away to keep them dry and hygienic. Underfoot the wood fibre and natural latex insoles sit on the Apinat BIO® outsole for cushioning, shock absorption and traction as you walk. Lightweight, breathable, and fully washable — by hand, or a short cool wash with a towel in the drum to protect them.

White knit is the clean one: cream or ecru wide-leg trousers and a knit vest, or a linen shirt over a slip dress in summer. Black knit takes mid-wash denim, a wide leg with a turn-up and a black top — the whole thing quiet and easy. Grey knit sits between them and likes layers: grey and stone, a big scarf, a long coat over the top for city days.

That open knit is what makes them breathe, so they're built for dry days and warm weather rather than rain — take the leather for wet streets and bring these back out when it clears.
