Our Notes

A Chelsea boot built for winter without looking like one. The silhouette stays true to the classic — clean elastic gusset, pull tab at the back, a rounded toe with no seams across the vamp — but everything under and inside it has been rethought for cold, wet months.

The upper is onMicro® waterproof vegan leather (100% PU), a breathable PFC-free microfibre that holds its shape and takes the weather without the surface going dull. Behind it sits a PFC-free Sympatex® membrane, lab-tested waterproof, so rain and slush stay out while the boot still breathes. Underneath that again is PrimaLoft® insulation made with 90% recycled content — the warmth is worked into the structure of the boot rather than added as a bulky liner, which is why it stays this trim through the ankle.

The sole is direct-injected: moulded and bonded straight onto the upper, so there's no seam for water to find, in a dual-density PU with a rubber tread layer over it. That combination is what makes the boot feel light for something this substantial — cushioning above, grip below, deep lugs cut into the tread for slush and wet pavements. There's no shank; the cushioned midsole does the supporting, which keeps the underfoot feel soft and flexible rather than rigid. Inside, Portuguese vegan suede (100% PU) lines the boot with an onSteam® breathable microfibre footbed, over a contoured memory-foam insole that follows the shape of your foot and lifts out if you'd rather use your own.

This is a boot for the outdoor end of winter. Cargo trousers with the hem gathered at the shaft, a waxed or padded jacket, a heavy knit and a scarf — the lugged sole is built for cold mud, wet leaves and frozen pavements, and it reads as though it means it. Turn-up jeans and a long coat work the same way in town. In brown it warms towards stone, olive and camel, worn with an overshirt or a field jacket. Wear them on a walk that turns properly wet, then keep them on for wherever you're going afterwards.

Ethics & Origin

This product is ethically made in Portugal under EU employment, discrimination and health & safety law. It's vegan from the uppers and linings to the glue. It's delivered to you in plastic-free paper and cardboard packaging. We measure the emissions from making and delivering it, and work to a plan to reduce them.

Care Guide

Clean: Wipe the uppers and outsoles with warm soapy water and a cloth or soft brush, then towel dry thoroughly.

Road salt: Salt won't mark or spoil these uppers, but it's worth wiping off when you can. Clean it away with warm soapy water and a cloth, then towel dry — no need for vinegar or special treatments on this material.

Polish: A synthetic polish can be used to bring back shine and refresh the colour — any synthetic product should work fine, applied as described in its instructions. If your footwear has a burnished effect on the toes and sides (we apply a darker polish to some of our brown vegan leather uppers for effect), this is best reapplied by a cobbler, or at home using a darker shade of polish worked around the toes and sides.

Drying: You can dry your footwear on top of or near a radiator or other heat source. Depending on the heat, it can take a few days to dry out the insides fully. Never put your footwear in the washing machine.

Deodorising: Don't let your footwear stay damp between wears, as this can let microbes develop and cause a smell. If this happens, dry the footwear thoroughly and use a footwear deodoriser until the smell stops. In extreme cases, wash the insides out with warm soapy water, then dry fully and reapply the deodoriser.

Waterproofing (optional): These uppers are already waterproof, so a spray isn't needed — but you can treat them with a standard waterproofing spray if you'd like to protect them further and add extra stain resistance. Most standard sprays work fine on our vegan leather.

Built to last: Because the uppers are fully synthetic, they won't rot, crack or spoil the way natural leather can when it's repeatedly soaked and dried — which makes them an ideal material for waterproof footwear that sees a lot of wet weather.

Fit and comfort notes:

Width and volume: our footwear is designed with a slightly wider D width fitting, offering more width and volume than most brands.
Materials: we use high quality vegan leather and suede. These materials are stable and won't stretch out significantly over time, so we recommend sizing up for comfort.
The perfect fit: you don't want the shoes to pinch your feet. You should have wiggle room for your toes and no rub points.
Feel: in most cases you'll find our footwear is comfy straight out of the box. Depending on the style or your foot shape, it can sometimes take a few wears for the uppers to soften and mould to your feet.

Stand on a hard surface with your heel against a wall.
Measure your foot from the heel (the wall) to the longest point of your toes.
Use this number to find your size in the chart above.

It is helpful to measure both feet, as one foot is often slightly larger than the other. Always choose the size that accommodates your longest foot.
