Two straps crossed over the foot and a slingback round the heel. Cork underneath, and enough hold to walk properly in.
The straps meet in a wide X across the instep — one from each side, cut in our Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials), smooth with a low sheen and stitched fine along both edges. Behind, a slim slingback runs round the heel and fastens on an adjustable metal buckle (100% zamak), with pin holes to set it where you want it and a stud anchoring the strap. There's an elasticated strip built into the buckle strap, so it gives as you walk and settles back — that's what gets the fit right and keeps it there without gripping at the heel. In tan, warm all through against the natural footbed. In black, sharper, cooler, and quieter.
Underfoot is where the work is. A deep Portuguese cork footbed with a raised arch and a moulded heel cup, layered with soft vegan suede (100% PU) on top. The cork moulds to the shape of your foot as you wear it in, absorbs shock as you walk, and stays cool. Under that, a rubber tread layer for grip — and you can see the recycled content in it, flecks and splashes of colour embedded right through the material. Durable and grippy over pavements, gravel, decking and the walk between. A 3cm heel and 1.5cm toe for a gentle lift.
Lined in soft Portuguese vegan suede (100% PU), so you can wear them all day without socks and not think about it. And you can take them down to the beach — salt water won't mark or stain them, and they're easy to care for.
The slingback is what makes these the dressier of the footbed sandals. Tan wears with linen and cream, a loose dress, wide stone trousers. Black takes denim, black linen, or anything you'd wear out to dinner.

I like these but they could do with more holes for the buckle fastening as the tightest is still a bit slack. Also, they took a bit of wearing in and absolutely killed my feet on the first couple of wears - it was over a month ago and I still have the scars from where my feet bled - so short wears and/or socks might help when your sandals are fresh out of the box. Now I have worn them in, they are my summer favourites. Hopefully they will last a long time but I can't review that aspect yet because I haven't had them that long
Super comfortable! Receive several compliments when using them
They have been comfortable right from the first wear, so I am very happy, although admit I haven't worn for long periods of time or lots of walking. Agree with other reviews that they are a bit on the large side but still okay.
I had only used the otherwise beautiful sandals for a month when the sole started crumbling and it has only gotten worse - I don't think they are worth the price
Never had a good pair of sandals before. These are beautifully designed and very comfortable. I actually wear these as much as I can. :)
