Our Goodyear Welt Derbys are a smart cap-toe Derby in our Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials), built around a handcrafted classic last shape and finished in a rich vegan leather you can polish to keep looking sharp. Hidden metal eyelets sit behind the vegan leather for a clean lacing line, with long, extra-strong laces (100% recycled polyester) tipped in 100% zamak (a durable zinc alloy).
They're made with Goodyear welt construction, the most respected method in shoemaking — up to eight weeks, 75 parts and over 200 operations for a single pair. When the hard-wearing rubber outsoles (made with 10% recycled rubber) wear down, a good cobbler can stitch on a new sole at the welt, so the shoes last far longer than a normal pair. And as the finish wears with time, you can add a burnish yourself — or have a cobbler do it — to bring back the depth and give them character with age.
Inside, Portuguese vegan suede (100% PU) lines the shoes — soft and breathable against the foot — and a memory foam insole over a traditional cork bed moulds to your foot with wear, getting more comfortable over time.
This product is certified carbon-neutral and ethically made in Portugal under EU employment, discrimination and health & safety law. It's vegan from the uppers and linings to the glue. It's delivered to you through our carbon-neutral supply chain in plastic-free paper and cardboard packaging.

- Construction
- Goodyear welt construction – the most respected method in shoemaking. The upper, lining and a leather welt are stitched together, then the sole is stitched to the welt, building the shoe up in many more stages than a standard glued shoe. It can be resoled again and again by any cobbler, so it lasts for years, and the welted, sealed build holds up better in wet weather

- Water-resistant for everyday wear – keeps you dry in rain, puddles, wet streets, and most winter conditions. Just avoid heavy saturation or full submersion.

I had the shoes for 3 days, wore them today for the first time. They look good and at first glance they seem well-made. However, the left heel came off after the first 200 metre walk, which is very dissapointing. There are fake "nail holes" but no nails or even glue holding the heel on. I will fix it myself later.
The shoes are very uncomfortable at first, but that is expected. All vegan dress shoes I have ever had are very stiff in the beginning.
Shipping (including going through customs) was very fast and without problems.

I'm really sorry this happened. These are one of our best-selling shoes and we hardly have any issues with them – but saying that, due to the nature of manufacturing, this can happen.

I love the look of these shoes. But the one big issue is that the horizontal stitching on the front of the shoe scrapes my smallest toe from the inside. On some days it gets really painful. They are definitely not comfortable for long use because of that. I'm still thinking if I should return these and get something else.
It takes a while to wear them without getting blisters, but that is how most vegan shoes are.
These are really elegant and they are my go-to-pair for work.

The shoes look really great and are very comfortable to wear. However, the sizing runs a bit generous, so I had to choose a smaller size than I normally wear to get the right fit.
