There's a quiet confidence to a proper brogue boot. Ours is a full wingtip on a beautifully crafted last — the wingtip toe and full brogue trim, the medallion and punched detailing tracing the lines of the boot, all the character of a country brogue built into a sharp ankle boot. It sits as easily under tailoring as it does with denim and a heavy coat, the kind of boot that quietly elevates whatever you put it with.
They're made in our Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials) with a hand-finished toe, in a classic black, and crafted in a family-owned factory in Portugal we've worked with since 2015. The real story sits underneath: these are Goodyear welted — the most respected construction in shoemaking, where the upper, lining and a vegan leather welt are stitched together so the sole can be replaced and the boot resoled years down the line rather than thrown away. It's a boot built to be repaired, not replaced. Threaded with extra-strong laces (100% recycled polyester) with metal tips.
Underneath sits a hard-wearing rubber outsole made with 10% recycled rubber in a classic profile any cobbler can resole, and a TPU shank runs through the arch for stability and support — metal-free, so it's airport-friendly. Inside, a memory-foam insole over a traditional cork bed moulds to your foot over the first few wears, so it gets more comfortable the more you wear it, the way a proper welted boot should.
A boot like this earns its keep across years and seasons. It's the quietly characterful choice with tailored trousers and an overcoat, sharpens straight or slim jeans with a leather jacket, and holds its own with cords and a heavy knit when the weather turns. Buy it once, resole it, and it'll outlast everything else in the wardrobe.
- Upper
- Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials)
- Lining
- Portuguese vegan suede (100% PU) – soft and comfortable against the foot, with a breathable suede texture that helps keep feet fresh
- Insole
- Memory foam insole over a traditional cork bed – poured into the shoe and moulded to your foot over time, so they get more comfortable the more you wear them
- Outsole
- Hard-wearing rubber outsole made with 10% recycled rubber – a standard profile that most cobblers can resole easily when it eventually wears
- Laces
- Long, extra-strong laces (100% recycled polyester), with metal lace tips (100% zamak — a durable zinc alloy)
- Shank
- TPU shank for stability and support through the arch – metal-free, so they can be worn through metal detectors
- Construction
- Goodyear welt construction – the most respected method in shoemaking. The upper, lining and a leather welt are stitched together, then the sole is stitched to the welt, building the shoe up in many more stages than a standard glued shoe. It can be resoled again and again by any cobbler, so it lasts for years, and the welted, sealed build holds up better in wet weather
- Water Resistance
- Water-resistant for everyday wear – keeps you dry in rain, puddles, wet streets, and most winter conditions. Just avoid heavy saturation or full submersion.
- Width
- D width fitting – a slightly wider fit with more volume than standard
- Fit
- Order your usual size. Half size? Wider width fittings size up, narrower width fittings size down.

Just received them yesterday. Very beautiful and very good quality, both inside and outside. The material seems robust but very comfortable to wear since the first moment, no need to break in. The size 43 fits perfectly. They crease very nice. Hope the aging will be just as satisfying.
Have another pair of WVS City Oxford and I'm very happy with them, although wearing them just for performing in the opera orchestra.
I bought boots rather than shoes to cover the ankles. Very comfortable and the brogue style was commented on favourably by others. Do not take any walking in. The fit was good. The sole seems quite substantial. I am happy with these. I also have a pair of Chelsea boots with the same sole which was a reason for purchasing these.
Boots are sturdy and appear of good quality however they are very narrow and the vegan leather very hard. I tried stretching them but they do not stretch like leather does and the material is less soft so can cut into your feet. Ended up having to give them away.

These boots are stunning. The craftsmanship that went into making this beautiful pair of boots is outstanding and all the materials used feel of good quality. The soles are sturdy and non slippery and I believe these will last a long time. The only issue I have is the sizing. I'm a woman with wide feet, who should be a uk ladies size 7, but I usually buy ladies size 8 and gents size 7 to accommodate my foot width. With these boots I have assumed that they would be gents sizes, so I have purchased a 7, however they do feel a little bit small and definitely narrow - it is so difficult to buy shoes online and not being able to compare two sizes at the same time, my regret is that I didn't realise this on trying them at home that I would be better with a bigger size and now I have worn them outside. I know real leather usually gives a little, but it is my first pair of vegan shoes and I will see if they behave similarly. I would recommend them, just wear them indoors for a little bit longer to see if the size is truly a good fit for you.
