Deep Tread Chelsea Boots

The Deep Tread Chelsea is the tougher, more grounded end of the Chelsea family — the one built for actual winters. It keeps the clean, pull-on Chelsea silhouette, with elasticated side gussets and a back tab, but sets it on a chunky lugged sole that changes the whole character: more substantial, more planted, a boot with a bit of heft to it.

They're cut in our Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials) with a smooth, structured finish that holds its shape and takes on that lived-in look over time. There's a classic black that goes with everything and a warm dark brown that softens the toughness a little and leans more heritage. Underneath, a hard-wearing rubber outsole made with 10% recycled rubber runs a deep lugged tread, so there's proper grip for wet pavements, gravel and mud alike, with a steel shank through the arch for stability underfoot.

This is a boot that does the heavy lifting through autumn and winter. The chunky sole gives an outfit weight and intent a slim Chelsea can't: it grounds slim and straight-leg jeans with the lug just showing at the hem, balances the volume of wide and barrel-leg denim, and adds a bit of welcome toughness under a midi dress or skirt with opaque tights. Worn with tailored trousers and an overcoat it reads considered rather than corporate; with cords and a chunky knit it settles straight into weekend territory. Start at the feet and build up.

Step in and the comfort is immediate: a cushioned layered insole with a soft memory-foam top layer underfoot, and a Portuguese vegan suede lining that keeps the whole boot soft against the foot through a long day on them.
