The Continental Chelsea is a boot with proper character, and it announces it from the top down. Dual pull tabs front and back frame the ankle, the textured wide-weave gusset panels bring depth and interest to the sides, and the Italian vegan nubuck (100% PU) — one of the finest vegan suedes you can get, Ecolabel certified to Oeko-Tex® 100 and REACH standards — has a fine grain and hand finish that moves as you brush your hand across it, the nap shifting shade with the light. This is a Chelsea with far more going on than the standard issue.

Beneath it all sits the stacked look of a hand-painted wood-effect midsole stripe, giving each pair an almost cobbler-made character, carried on a chunky commando-style TR tread with grip for pavements and towpaths alike. Rich texture above, crafted detail below — the whole boot hangs together on that combination.

And that's what makes them worth styling around. The chunky sole and textured suede give an outfit weight and intent that a plain Chelsea can't: they anchor slim trousers and an overcoat so the whole look reads considered rather than corporate, they give jeans and a roll-neck instant depth, and worn with cords and a chore jacket they're the detail that pulls the outfit together. Upper: Italian vegan nubuck (100% PU) – one of the finest vegan suedes you can get, Ecolabel certified with a soft, luxurious feel
Lining: Portuguese vegan suede (100% PU) – soft and comfortable against the foot, with a breathable suede texture that helps keep feet fresh
Insole: Cushioned layered insole – a soft memory foam top layer over a recycled PU base (20% recycled PU) cut to fit the shoe
Outsole: TR outsole with a hand-painted wood-effect midsole stripe – a stacked, almost cobbler-made look on a chunky commando-style tread for grip from pavements to towpaths

Construction & Features

Shank: No shank – a soft, flexible build that moves with your feet
Construction: Mounted (cemented) construction – the upper is lasted to shape and the outsole bonded directly underneath. The most widely used construction method in footwear, it gives a clean, flexible build, though the outsole isn't easily resoled
Water Resistance: Not water-resistant – vegan suede will soak through in rain, though it won't mark or spoil when wet. Best kept for dry days, and treat with a waterproofing spray if you want some protection.

Care Guide

Clean: For marks and stubborn stains, use warm soapy water with a cloth or soft brush, working gently over the surface. Towel dry afterwards.Brush: Once fully dry, run a suede brush over the uppers to lift the nap back up and restore the soft, even texture. Brushing in one direction gives the most consistent finish.Drying: Always let your footwear dry naturally, away from direct heat sources like radiators, as too much heat can stiffen or damage the suede. Stuff with paper or a shoe tree to help hold the shape while drying, and allow a day or two for the insides to dry fully before wearing again.Deodorising: Don't let your footwear stay damp between wears, as this creates an environment where microbes can develop and cause smells. If a smell does develop, dry the footwear thoroughly and use a footwear deodoriser until it clears. In extreme cases you can wash the insides out with warm soapy water, then dry fully and apply the deodoriser again.Waterproofing (optional): If you'd like some added protection, you can treat the suede with a waterproofing spray every 2–3 months depending on use — most standard sprays work fine on vegan suede. This is optional, and bear in mind vegan suede is naturally an open-textured material that isn't designed to be water-resistant.

Fit and comfort notes:

Width and volume: our footwear is designed with a slightly wider D width fitting, offering more width and volume than most brands.
Materials: we use high quality vegan leather and suede. These materials are stable and won't stretch out significantly over time, so we recommend sizing up for comfort.
The perfect fit: you don't want the shoes to pinch your feet. You should have wiggle room for your toes and no rub points.
Feel: in most cases you'll find our footwear is comfy straight out of the box. Depending on the style or your foot shape, it can sometimes take a few wears for the uppers to soften and mould to your feet.

Stand on a hard surface with your heel against a wall.
Measure your foot from the heel (the wall) to the longest point of your toes.
Use this number to find your size in the chart above.

It is helpful to measure both feet, as one foot is often slightly larger than the other. Always choose the size that accommodates your longest foot.
