Buckled Work Boots

A seven-eye work boot cut high, sitting above the ankle at the bottom of the calf. The round toe and stitched cap go back to the work boot that was in the WVS line from the beginning — the same round toe, the same deep lugged sole, the same insistence on double and triple stitching through every panel, which is what keeps a boot holding its shape rather than softening out of it a season in. This version takes that shape further up the leg and gives you more to play with.

Across the top of the shaft sits a leather strap with a solid silver-tone buckle, and it's genuinely yours to decide: done up tight, left hanging loose, or undone altogether. The lacing works the same way — seven eyes through silver-tone eyelets, laces of recycled polyester with metal tips, strong enough to haul properly tight so the shaft hugs the leg, or left slack for something slouchier. Wear them one way on a Tuesday and the other on a Saturday and they read as two different boots. A full-length zip on the inside means you can set the lacing exactly where you want it and never undo it again. At the back, a large pull tab in recycled polyester with the WVS mark embroidered in black thread.

The upper is Italian vegan leather made with 62–66% plant-origin materials. Inside, a Portuguese vegan suede lining, breathable against the foot, over a cushioned layered insole — soft memory foam on a recycled PU base with 20% recycled content. Underneath, a hard-wearing rubber outsole made with 10% recycled rubber, deep lugs cut into the tread, standing 3cm at the heel with a WVS emboss on the sole.

They take everything narrow: skinny jeans tucked into the shaft, straight-leg denim over the top, a slim trouser with the buckle showing. A long coat gives them room to be the loudest thing in the outfit, which they'll happily be. Winter boots that get better looking as they wear in.
