Our Notes

These classic Goodyear welt Oxfords are made to last. Built with Goodyear welt construction, the most respected method in traditional shoemaking, the upper, lining and a leather welt are stitched together and the sole stitched to the welt — many more stages than a standard glued shoe. The reward comes years down the line: when the rubber outsoles eventually wear, a cobbler can stitch on a fresh pair without disturbing the rest of the shoe. No waste, just proper durability.

The shape is what sets them apart. Built around a beautiful handcrafted last, these Oxfords have a clean silhouette with just the right balance of structure and flow. The welt gives the shoe a defined edge and sharp profile — it holds its shape, sits well on the foot, and gives that unmistakable premium look. Smart enough for formal wear, tough enough for daily use.

Details matter. There's a subtle saw-tooth edge on the tongue, a small design touch that keeps the look traditional but distinct. Made in Portugal and finished by hand, they break in naturally over time, moulding to your foot and becoming more comfortable the longer you wear them.

The upper is cut from our signature Italian vegan leather with 69% bio-based content, fully lined with soft tan vegan suede over deep, cushioned insoles made with recycled content. Long days on your feet are no problem.

Ethics & Sustainability

This product is certified carbon-neutral and ethically made in Portugal under EU employment, discrimination and health & safety law. It's vegan from the uppers and linings to the glue. It's delivered to you through our carbon-neutral supply chain in plastic-free paper and cardboard packaging.

Materials

Upper: Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials)
Lining: Portuguese vegan suede (100% PU) – soft and comfortable against the foot, with a breathable suede texture that helps keep feet fresh
Insole: Memory foam insole over a traditional cork bed – poured into the shoe and moulded to your foot over time, so they get more comfortable the more you wear them
Outsole: Hard-wearing rubber outsole made with 10% recycled rubber – a standard profile that most cobblers can resole easily when it eventually wears
Laces: Long, extra-strong laces (100% recycled polyester), with metal lace tips (100% zamak — a durable zinc alloy)

Shank: TPU shank for stability and support through the arch – metal-free, so they can be worn through metal detectors
Hardware: Hidden metal eyelets that sit behind the vegan leather for a clean finish, with metal lace tips — both 100% zamak (a durable zinc alloy)
Construction: Goodyear welt construction – the most respected method in shoemaking. The upper, lining and a leather welt are stitched together, then the sole is stitched to the welt, building the shoe up in many more stages than a standard glued shoe. It can be resoled again and again by any cobbler, so it lasts for years, and the welted, sealed build holds up better in wet weather
Water Resistance: Water-resistant for everyday wear – keeps you dry in rain, puddles, wet streets, and most winter conditions. Just avoid heavy saturation or full submersion.

Our Italian Bio-Based Vegan Leather

Made with Italian bio-based vegan leather containing 62–66% plant-origin renewable materials. Produced in Italy using modern water-based, non-solvent processes, combining a viscose backing with a next-generation bio-based polyurethane surface.

Care Guide

Clean: Wipe the uppers and outsoles with warm soapy water and a cloth or soft brush, then towel dry thoroughly. Polish: A synthetic polish can be used to bring back shine and refresh the colour — any synthetic product should work fine, applied as described in its instructions. If your footwear has a burnished effect on the toes and sides (we apply a darker polish to some of our brown vegan leather uppers for effect), this is best reapplied by a cobbler, or at home using a darker shade of polish worked around the toes and sides. Drying: You can dry your footwear on top of or near a radiator or other heat source. Depending on the heat, it can take a few days to dry out the insides fully. Never put your footwear in the washing machine. Deodorising: Don't let your footwear stay damp between wears, especially inside boots, as this can damage the water resistance and let microbes develop, causing a smell. If this happens, dry the footwear thoroughly and use a footwear deodoriser until the smell stops. In extreme cases, wash the insides out with warm soapy water, then dry fully and reapply the deodoriser. Waterproofing (optional): You can treat the uppers with a waterproofing spray to improve durability, stain resistance and water resistance. We recommend doing this every 2–3 months depending on use — most standard waterproofing sprays work fine on our vegan leather.
