Our notes
There's a quiet authority to a well-made Oxford. Ours is built around a beautifully crafted last — a closed-lace silhouette with a gently tapered toe and clean, unbroken lines that sit as easily under a well-cut suit as they do with trousers and an open collar for the kind of considered, everyday elegance that doesn't wait for an occasion. It's a shoe with the confidence to be dressed up or worn simply, and look right either way.
They're made in our Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials) with a fine hand-finished toe, in a classic black and a warm chestnut, and crafted in a family-owned factory in Portugal we've worked with since 2015. The real story sits underneath: these are Goodyear welted — the most respected construction in shoemaking, where the upper, lining and a vegan leather welt are stitched together so the sole can be replaced and the shoe resoled years down the line rather than thrown away. It's a shoe built to be repaired, not replaced. Hidden metal eyelets sit behind the leather for a clean lace line, threaded with extra-strong laces (100% recycled polyester) with metal tips.
Underneath sits a hard-wearing rubber outsole made with 10% recycled rubber in a classic profile any cobbler can resole, and a TPU shank runs through the arch for stability and support — metal-free, so they're airport-friendly. Inside, a memory-foam insole over a traditional cork bed moulds to your foot over the first few wears, so they get more comfortable the more you wear them, the way a proper welted shoe should.
A shoe like this earns its keep across years and seasons. Black is the quietly formal one — with a dark suit, with tailored trousers, with indigo denim and a blazer when you want it dressed down. Chestnut is the more characterful choice — beautiful with navy and grey tailoring, with chinos and an overshirt, or with raw denim for that elevated everyday look. Buy them once, resole them, and they'll outlast everything else in the wardrobe.
- Upper
- Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials)
- Lining
- Portuguese vegan suede (100% PU) – soft and comfortable against the foot, with a breathable suede texture that helps keep feet fresh
- Insole
- Memory foam insole over a traditional cork bed – poured into the shoe and moulded to your foot over time, so they get more comfortable the more you wear them
- Outsole
- Hard-wearing rubber outsole made with 10% recycled rubber – a standard profile that most cobblers can resole easily when it eventually wears
- Laces
- Long, extra-strong laces (100% recycled polyester), with metal lace tips (100% zamak — a durable zinc alloy)
- Shank
- TPU shank for stability and support through the arch – metal-free, so they can be worn through metal detectors
- Hardware
- Hidden metal eyelets that sit behind the vegan leather for a clean finish, with metal lace tips — both 100% zamak (a durable zinc alloy)
- Construction
- Goodyear welt construction – the most respected method in shoemaking. The upper, lining and a leather welt are stitched together, then the sole is stitched to the welt, building the shoe up in many more stages than a standard glued shoe. It can be resoled again and again by any cobbler, so it lasts for years, and the welted, sealed build holds up better in wet weather
- Water Resistance
- Water-resistant for everyday wear – keeps you dry in rain, puddles, wet streets, and most winter conditions. Just avoid heavy saturation or full submersion.
- Width
- D width fitting – a slightly wider fit with more volume than standard
- Fit
- Order your usual size. Half size? Wider width fittings size up, narrower width fittings size down.

- 3.5 cm
- Toe Height
- 1.5 cm

I wore these for my wedding with some insoles, and they were comfortable to wear the whole day, which I was very impressed by. They look great, too.
Goodyear Welt Oxfords
The glue that attaches the sole together appears to be lose and makes a sound every time that I walk. Disappointed in the quality for this price point.
I wore these on my wedding day. They were comfortable for the entire day, including dancing. I received many compliments and would certainly recommend these shoes to anyone.
I’ve never had any shoes give me blisters in my 51 years—until these. I bought them in both brown and black, thinking they’d be a versatile addition to my wardrobe. Unfortunately, they’ve been nothing but a painful mistake.
Both pairs gave me severe blisters on my big toes and pinky toes on both feet—almost immediately after putting them on. The fit feels rigid and unforgiving, with pressure points in all the wrong places. I tried breaking them in, but there’s no improvement.
They might look good, but they’re horrible to wear. Absolutely not recommended unless you enjoy suffering.
