The 14 Inch Classic Briefcase is the satchel shape cut large, with the room for a laptop, a journal, a couple of books, pens, a camera and whatever else the day needs, and it carries two ways: the top handle for the walk in, or the strap clipped on to wear over the shoulder or across the body when your hands are full. The strap adjusts and comes off, so the bag reads as a briefcase when you want it to and as a satchel when you don't.
Inside it takes a 13 inch laptop, an A4 notebook or a hardback flat, with the depth for an umbrella and the day's paperwork alongside. A front pocket under the flap holds a phone, keys, pens or a paperback where you can reach them, with the flap coming down over it so nothing works its way out.
Two buckled straps hold the flap down across the front, running from the top edge to buckles set low on the body. It's cut in our signature Italian bio-based vegan leather and lined in vegan suede, soft to the hand with a light grain, and the gusset is set in as a separate piece, which gives it its depth and lets it stand up on its own rather than collapsing flat when it's empty. Body: Italian bio-based vegan leather with 62–66% plant-origin renewable materials. Bio-based polyurethane surface on a viscose backing, made in Italy using water-based, solvent-free processes.
Lining: Portuguese vegan suede (100% polyurethane).

- Two solid roller buckles cast in zamak, a zinc alloy, hold the front straps, with rivets set through the strap tabs where the vegan leather takes the pull. The rollers turn as you feed each strap through, so the tongue drops into the hole without forcing it, and the vegan leather wears evenly rather than creasing at one point. Underneath the flap sit two concealed magnets, and that's what you'll use most of the time. Set the buckles once at the holes that suit you and leave them there, then just lift the flap and the magnets release with a light pull. Press it back down and they catch on their own. The buckles are there when you want the bag properly closed, and the magnets handle everything in between. The shoulder strap is removable, clipping on with sprung snap hooks and adjusting for length, so you can wear it over the shoulder or across the body, or take it off and carry the bag by the top handle alone

- Cut and closed by hand, with the panels turned and stitched rather than bonded, so the seams carry the load and the edges are finished on the inside. The gusset is set in as a separate piece, which is what gives the bag its depth and lets it stand up on its own rather than collapsing flat when it's empty. Straps and buckle tabs are set on their own reinforced patches, so the pull spreads into the panel instead of into a single line of stitching

- Water-resistant. The vegan leather surface sheds rain rather than soaking it up, so a shower on the way to the station wipes off with a cloth. The stitching and the zips aren't sealed, and the flap isn't a closed seal, so it isn't waterproof and shouldn't be left out in sustained rain or set down on wet ground

- Adjustable buckled strap with concealed magnetic fastening. Set the buckle once at the holes that suit you and leave it there, then lift the flap and the magnet releases with a light pull. Press it back down and it will seal shut on its own.

I've had this bag for a couple of months now, and it looks just the same as the day I got it. No sign of the leather wearing out or starting to crack. I can fit all of my daily needs easily in the bag, including a book and small water water bottle, and it looks so classic and stylish. Love this bag.
