Our Notes

The 3.5cm Woven Belt is a braided elasticated strap, so it gives as you move and pulls back into shape rather than holding you at one fixed point. There are no punched holes: the prong passes between the strands of the weave, so it fastens anywhere along the length and finds the exact spot rather than the nearest one. The buckle is a squared frame in polished silver with a solid weight to it in the hand, and the strap runs into vegan leather ends and a matching keeper. In Black, Dark Blue and Dark Brown.

The ends and keeper are our signature bio-based vegan leather, hand-stitched onto the weave so the pull of the buckle goes into the leather rather than into the braid. The end is shaped to a soft point so it feeds through the keeper and lies flat.

Ethics & Origin

This product is ethically made in Portugal under EU employment, discrimination and health & safety law. It's vegan from the materials to the glue. It's delivered to you in plastic-free paper and cardboard packaging. We measure the emissions from making and delivering it, and work to a plan to reduce them.

Materials

Strap: Woven elasticated fabric (approx. 90% polyester, 10% elastane).

Ends and keeper: Italian bio-based vegan leather with 62–66% plant-origin renewable materials. Bio-based polyurethane surface on a viscose backing, made in Italy using water-based, solvent-free processes.

Buckle: Zamak, a durable zinc alloy.

Hardware: Heavyweight solid buckle cast in zamak, a durable zinc alloy. The pin and frame are made as one solid piece rather than plated over a hollow core, which is what gives the buckle its weight in the hand and keeps the edges sharp over years of wear

Care Guide

Spot clean the woven strap with a soft cloth and warm soapy water, working the mark rather than soaking it, then let it dry naturally away from radiators and direct sun. Heat is the thing to avoid here, since the elastic in the weave loses its stretch if it's dried on a radiator. Wipe the vegan leather ends and keeper with a damp cloth, no solvents or polish, and wipe the buckle dry. Store it rolled in its cotton dust bag rather than hung, so the weave isn't held under tension

How to take your waist measurement

Measure around the waistband of your trousers, where you will position the belt, rather than on top of any clothing.

Order the size where you fall in the middle of the smaller and larger measurement. For example, if you measure 83cm (33in), order a medium.

Size up if you are unsure between two sizes.
