Our notes

Chelsea Boots by Will's Vegan Shoes. No laces, no fastening — just two elastic gussets set into the sides and a loop at the heel to pull them on. The cut of the upper closes in around the ankle and the gussets hold it there, so the boot stays put on the foot while going on and off in a second.

The upper is our signature Italian bio-based vegan leather, cut clean and unbroken from the toe back to the heel. A low sheen picks out the curve over the toe and the leather settles into soft creases across the vamp as you wear it in. The toe is almond-shaped and the 2.5cm heel is squared off and slim — the whole silhouette runs long and low. In black, dark brown, or dark brown vegan suede.

Classic Will's handwriting, with the attention to detail carried right through. The gusset panels are stitched in with a neat curved seam that follows the line of the ankle. A ribbed woven loop sits at the back of the collar. A fine stitch line traces the sole edge, and the heel is finished a shade lighter, lifting against the upper.

In black, this is the most versatile boot in the wardrobe. Slim or straight-leg dark denim with the hem just skimming the top of the boot, a white tee and a leather jacket, and you have the look it's been known for since the sixties. Take it up with a slim navy or charcoal suit, worn with a shirt or a roll-neck, and it stands in for an oxford — more modern for it. Dark brown is the warmer, easier one: mid-wash denim, a knit in stone or ecru, an overshirt. Or navy and olive chinos with an oxford shirt for smart casual — dinner, a Friday in the office, and a matching brown belt to finish. The dark brown suede brings texture into it. Wear it with grey flannel trousers and a fine-gauge crew neck, or with corduroys and a chore coat at the weekend.

The TR outsole and its light tread take it over city pavements, gravel drives and park paths, and it's water-resistant through rain, puddles and wet streets.

Upper
Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials) and Italian vegan suede (100% PU)
Lining
Portuguese vegan suede (100% PU) – soft and comfortable against the foot, with a breathable suede texture that helps keep feet fresh
Insole
Cushioned layered insole – a soft memory foam top layer over a recycled PU base (20% recycled PU) cut to fit the shoe
Outsole
Flexible TR outsole with a light tread for grip
Shank
Steel shank for stability and support through the arch
Construction
Mounted (cemented) construction – the upper is lasted to shape and the outsole bonded directly underneath. The most widely used construction method in footwear, it gives a clean, flexible build, though the outsole isn't easily resoled
Water Resistance
Vegan Leather – Water-resistant for everyday wear – keeps you dry in rain, puddles, wet streets, and most winter conditions. Just avoid heavy saturation or full submersion. | Vegan Suede – Not water-resistant – vegan suede will soak through in rain, though it won't mark or spoil when wet. Best kept for dry days, and treat with a waterproofing spray if you want some protection.
Width
D width fitting – a slightly wider fit with more volume than standard

Made with Italian bio-based vegan leather containing 62–66% plant-origin renewable materials. Produced in Italy using modern water-based, non-solvent processes, combining a viscose backing with a next-generation bio-based polyurethane surface.
This product is certified carbon-neutral and ethically made in Portugal under EU employment, discrimination and health & safety law. It's vegan from the uppers and linings to the glue. It's delivered to you through our carbon-neutral supply chain in plastic-free paper and cardboard packaging.
Vegan Suede Clean: For marks and stubborn stains, use warm soapy water with a cloth or soft brush, working gently over the surface. Towel dry afterwards. Brush: Once fully dry, run a suede brush over the uppers to lift the nap back up and restore the soft, even texture. Brushing in one direction gives the most consistent finish. Drying: Always let your footwear dry naturally, away from direct heat sources like radiators, as too much heat can stiffen or damage the suede. Stuff with paper or a shoe tree to help hold the shape while drying, and allow a day or two for the insides to dry fully before wearing again. Deodorising: Don't let your footwear stay damp between wears, as this creates an environment where microbes can develop and cause smells. If a smell does develop, dry the footwear thoroughly and use a footwear deodoriser until it clears. In extreme cases you can wash the insides out with warm soapy water, then dry fully and apply the deodoriser again. Waterproofing (optional): If you'd like some added protection, you can treat the suede with a waterproofing spray every 2–3 months depending on use — most standard sprays work fine on vegan suede. This is optional, and bear in mind vegan suede is naturally an open-textured material that isn't designed to be water-resistant. Vegan Leather Clean: Wipe the uppers and outsoles with warm soapy water and a cloth or soft brush, then towel dry thoroughly. Polish: A synthetic polish can be used to bring back shine and refresh the colour — any synthetic product should work fine, applied as described in its instructions. If your footwear has a burnished effect on the toes and sides (we apply a darker polish to some of our brown vegan leather uppers for effect), this is best reapplied by a cobbler, or at home using a darker shade of polish worked around the toes and sides. Drying: You can dry your footwear on top of or near a radiator or other heat source. Depending on the heat, it can take a few days to dry out the insides fully. Never put your footwear in the washing machine. Deodorising: Don't let your footwear stay damp between wears, especially inside boots, as this can damage the water resistance and let microbes develop, causing a smell. If this happens, dry the footwear thoroughly and use a footwear deodoriser until the smell stops. In extreme cases, wash the insides out with warm soapy water, then dry fully and reapply the deodoriser. Waterproofing (optional): You can treat the uppers with a waterproofing spray to improve durability, stain resistance and water resistance. We recommend doing this every 2–3 months depending on use — most standard waterproofing sprays work fine on our vegan leather.
