Our kids’ vegan school shoes are handmade in Portugal in small batches, using ethically made materials and traditional craft under EU labour and safety laws. They’re breathable, water-resistant, and built for everyday life – with slightly wider fits, grippy durable outsoles, and cushioning non-crush insoles made from recycled rubber.

What makes a great school shoe? (And how ours measure up)

1) All-day comfort
Classroom to playground, comfort is everything. Our uppers are made with water-resistant Italian vegan leather (69% biobased content). It’s soft from day one (less rubbing, fewer blisters) but holds its shape through daily wear.

2) A fit that works
Kids’ feet grow and move. Our lasts are slightly wider with more internal volume – giving space for socks, natural movement, and growth.

3) Grip and durability
Slippery pavements, wet grass, corridor tiles – we use deep-tread, flexible rubber outsoles for dependable traction and slow, even wear.

Water-resistant by design

Unless stated waterproof or otherwise, our footwear is water resistant. Our standard is OK for most UK autumn and winter weather.

Ok for: extended periods of light rain, splashes, shallow puddles, wet grass, light snow and slush.

Materials, honestly

Most of our footwear and accessories are made from Italian bio-based vegan leather made from plants (cereal crops). The latest version contains 69% bio-oil with a viscose (from eucalyptus trees) backing fabric. There is still 31% polyurethane in the composition, so it isn’t biodegradable – but we build each pair to last longer, to be repaired, and to be worn hard.

Sizing & care tips

• Between sizes? Choose the larger. Our lasts have extra volume to accommodate socks and growth.
• Break-in: Minimal – the uppers are soft from day one.
• Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth; use a neutral polish to refresh the finish when scuffed.
• Socks: A breathable cotton or bamboo sock keeps feet comfortable all day.
