Our Notes

These Recycled Vegan Shearling Boots are our attempt to make the cosiest, most comfy boots you can wear through autumn and winter. They're made from Spanish vegan suede (100% PU), treated for water resistance, with a lovely hand touch that's soft enough to mould to your feet and ankles as you wear them. Combined with the water-resistant lining, you can wear these boots in the rain, snow and slush and have dry feet — and the weather protection is PFC and PFA free throughout, keeping the forever chemicals out. Please note they are highly water-resistant but not waterproof, so they can't be submerged in water.

The recycled vegan shearling (100% recycled polyester) that covers the tongues also fully lines the inside of these boots down to your toes, keeping your feet warm even in freezing temperatures. The chunky TR track soles are big and grippy, giving you elevation above the elements and making walking through puddles and mud easy. We laid deep and squishy insoles on top — a soft memory foam top layer over a recycled PU base (20% recycled PU) — so you can wear these all day and for long distances comfortably.

The supportive D-ring lacing system, in gold-tone 100% zamak, gives a secure and stable fit with easy tension adjustment, laced with strong flat laces made from 100% recycled polyester with metal tips. We finished them with our signature WVS embroidered pull tab (large enough to put your finger through, made from recycled polyester) and a WVS emboss on the outsole.

Construction & Features

Lining: Recycled vegan shearling (100% recycled polyester) – covering the tongue and fully lining the boot down to your toes, keeping your feet warm even in freezing temperatures
Shank: Steel shank for stability and support through the arch
Hardware: Gold-tone metal D-rings in 100% zamak (a durable zinc alloy) – a fastening system that laces quickly and holds securely, with matching metal lace tips
Construction: Mounted (cemented) construction – the upper is lasted to shape and the outsole bonded directly underneath. The most widely used construction method in footwear, it gives a clean, flexible build, though the outsole isn't easily resoled
Water Resistance: Highly water-resistant and PFC/PFA free – the waterproof onMicro® vegan suede by Grupo Morón and a water-resistant lining keep your feet dry through rain, snow and slush. Not waterproof as a whole boot, so not suitable for submersion.

Ethics & Origin

This product is ethically made in Portugal under EU employment, discrimination and health & safety law. It's vegan from the uppers and linings to the glue. It's delivered to you in plastic-free paper and cardboard packaging. We measure the emissions from making and delivering it, and work to a plan to reduce them.

Care Guide

Clean: For marks and stubborn stains, use warm soapy water with a cloth or soft brush, working gently over the surface. Towel dry afterwards.

Brush: Once fully dry, run a suede brush over the uppers to lift the nap back up and restore the soft, even texture. Brushing in one direction gives the most consistent finish.

Drying: Always let your footwear dry naturally, away from direct heat sources like radiators, as too much heat can stiffen or damage the suede. Stuff with paper or a shoe tree to help hold the shape while drying, and allow a day or two for the insides to dry fully before wearing again.

Deodorising: Don't let your footwear stay damp between wears, as this creates an environment where microbes can develop and cause smells. If a smell does develop, dry the footwear thoroughly and use a footwear deodoriser until it clears. In extreme cases you can wash the insides out with warm soapy water, then dry fully and apply the deodoriser again.

Waterproofing (optional): If you'd like some added protection, you can treat the suede with a waterproofing spray every 2–3 months depending on use — most standard sprays work fine on vegan suede. This is optional, and bear in mind vegan suede is naturally an open-textured material that isn't designed to be water-resistant.

Fit and comfort notes:

Width and volume: our footwear is designed with a slightly wider D width fitting, offering more width and volume than most brands.
Materials: we use high quality vegan leather and suede. These materials are stable and won't stretch out significantly over time, so we recommend sizing up for comfort.
The perfect fit: you don't want the shoes to pinch your feet. You should have wiggle room for your toes and no rub points.
Feel: in most cases you'll find our footwear is comfy straight out of the box. Depending on the style or your foot shape, it can sometimes take a few wears for the uppers to soften and mould to your feet.

How to take your foot length measurement

Stand on a hard surface with your heel against a wall.
Measure your foot from the heel (the wall) to the longest point of your toes.
Use this number to find your size in the chart above.

It is helpful to measure both feet, as one foot is often slightly larger than the other. Always choose the size that accommodates your longest foot.
